Pastor
Robert L. Corsey
A Shepherd, Preacher, and Teacher — About Pastor Corsey
Pastor Robert Lamar Corsey was born and raised in North Philadelphia’s Richard Allen Projects. Determined to overcome the challenges around him, he sought success by any means necessary—until the Lord used a breaking point in 1996 to redirect his life and call him into purpose.
In 1993, Pastor Corsey moved to Norristown, PA, but after several difficult years, he reached rock bottom. In April 1996, ready to give up, he encountered the life-changing grace of God.
With no prior church upbringing beyond the gospel songs his mother played on Sunday mornings, he was invited by a co-worker to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, then located at 537 Green Street, under Pastor’s Dennis and Valerie Joell.
There, Pastor Corsey accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and was baptized on June 16, 1996. His spiritual foundation was laid, and his journey in ministry began.

Pastor Corsey pursued biblical education passionately. He attended:
The New Life Bible Institute under Pastor William Henley

He served on:
The Executive Board of FTTD Churches

After sensing the Lord’s leading, he returned home to Norristown in God’s timing.
Return to Shiloh & Pastoral Appointment
In September 2016, Pastor Corsey renewed his membership at Shiloh under Bishop Dennis E. Joell Sr. and Overseer Valerie A. Joell. Through prayer and spiritual confirmation, it was affirmed that God had called him to shepherd Shiloh.
Pastor Robert L. Corsey was installed as Pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on October 8, 2018.
Leadership in KCFI
In January 2018, Pastor Corsey was elected as the National Director of Evangelism for Kingdom Connection Fellowship International (KCFI) under Presiding Prelate, Bishop Jerome H. Ross, Sr. (Columbus, OH) —a role in which he continues to serve faithfully today. In all KCFI settings, he is respectfully recognized as Overseer Corsey and serves as a key leader in fellowship meetings, services, and national functions.
Outside of Ministry
Pastor Corsey is the proud father of two children—Robert R. Corsey and Shameka N. Campbell—and the grandfather of two beautiful grandchildren.
In his downtime, Pastor Corsey enjoys fellowshipping with SMBC members, family and friends, volunteering his time with local non-profits and watching football, proudly supporting the Philadelphia Eagles. Go Birds!
Life Verse & Ministry Philosophy
Pastor Corsey’s ministry is rooted in 1 Corinthians 9:22:
“To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.”
This Scripture defines his heart for people, his approach to evangelism, and his passion for reaching souls by any means necessary.
Pastor Corsey is committed to preaching and teaching the Gospel with clarity, compassion, and conviction—helping individuals grow in Christ and walk in purpose.
We invite you to come and experience his heartfelt teaching during our weekly services (Sunday, in-person or online at 11:30am) and Bible studies.
